Brent & Claire | Christchurch Wedding Photographer

This wedding was so fun!….as mentioned in my previous post….it was everything a wedding day should be!  While I love the romance, beauty of the Bride and everything else about weddings (who doesn’t!), I appreciate more the sense of Family that surrounds the couple, and that they have not only come to get “married” but then to just have a really good time with all the special people in their lives.  That is what makes Wedding Day’s so special, I think.

When couples relax and just “be” then the magic of the lens really happens.  When they forget that we are there and just hang out with each other and their friends/family, the natural, relaxed and most emotional moments happen.

So…..some sneak peeks for you guys!  The weather was perfect, their daughter was an angel….and what can I say about the wedding dance?  PURE FUN!  It was hard to shoot while laughing so hard and watching all the Guests Laugh and then the roar and clapping at the end was just fantastic!  Thank you for letting us be a small part of your Amazing Day!

The Robin Cliff Gown, look at that detail!

the Day After….

a wedding we are always tired….and I suspect the Bride and Groom are REALLY tired! Their Day was everything a Day should be!  Fun, Sexy, NO RAIN, lots of laughter, friends, family, great food, wonderful music, hip dancing (that first dance!!!!!)…..and just so romantic!  I’ll load some sneak peeks tomorrow but today, I thought I’d just give you all a laugh….so here is my tutorial on how to take care of babies (for Dummies!)

Wedding & Engagement….

So many things happening here at the moment!  Engagement Sessions have taken the last three weeks and have been so much FUN!  Each couple is so different and unique…and I LOVE that!  Their weddings will be special and really have their own personalities attached, which is exactly as it should be.  There are so many different locations around Christchurch to get married; from Darjon to Elizabeth House, to your own backyard, old Historic Buildings, churches, Pemberton,  Chateau on the Park, Mona Vale…the list goes on!~  All of them beautiful and all of them locations that we are looking forward to shooting at in the coming months…..

Sunday dawned so bright and clear!~  After all the weeks of flooding (we had fire engines pumping out our cul-de-sac at 2am in the morning!), and then SNOW the day before….when we took my eldest daughter out for her Birthday party at QEII pool and Pizza Hut (her choice not mine! YUCK!) …to wake up Sunday to a stunning blue sky and one of those amazing crisp clear Canterbury days was just incredible!  It was also fantastic because I got to FINALLY photograph Brendan and Olivia.  We had cancelled two weeks in a row due to the weather, so we seized the Day and went to the Sign of the Kiwi, in the midst of all that (bright!) snow and full sun, we slipped and slid, worked around kids having a massive snow ball fight right next to us, and we even braved some black ice on the road, while other cars turned back.  Can I say how adventurous and fun these guys are????

Olivia is the Bride who won the dress from Robyn Cliff, and when she told me the first thing I said to her was “has Robyn seen you?”….I think my question is pretty obvious when you see the images below.  Isn’t she stunning?   They are getting married near Christmas, just like Erick and I did 15 years ago, so that is double awesome for us~!

Anyhow, enough with the raving…….we have a new wedding slideshow online, I’ll post some images from it here later this week, but if anyone wants to see it, please just drop us a line!

Have an AWESOME week everyone!  The weather is beautiful and my E has a few days off……so we are going to just go hang out like a couple of silly-in-love teens tomorrow.  So if you see us holding hands and giggling around the city, be sure to say Hi!…..or if we are too embarrassing, just steer clear.  LOL

and had to post this one!  Brendan ever the gentleman getting her down, but then no one counted on how slippery that icy snow was!
